Anthropic Ships Claude Opus 5 at Half Its Flagship Price

Nvidia Weighs a $250B Guarantee for OpenAI's Ohio Mega-Campus
Nvidia is in talks to backstop up to $250 billion so OpenAI can lease SoftBank's 10-gigawatt data center campus in Piketon, Ohio - a site expected to cost more than $500 billion, built on a former uranium enrichment plant. A separate deal under discussion would see Nvidia finance around $350 billion of chips for the same site. Reports landed July 27, two days before Nvidia's biggest customers report earnings.

The EU AI Act's Transparency Rules Land August 2
From August 2, Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires businesses to tell users when they are interacting with an AI system, and to label AI-generated content and deepfakes. The obligations apply to companies serving EU users regardless of where the company sits.
